The United Nations General Assembly designated 2nd October as the International Day of Non-Violence in January 2007, to coincide with the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, the renowned India Leader. A ceremony to commemorate the International Day of Non-Violence will take place on Friday 2 October 2020 from 10:00 to 12:00 hours (Bangkok time) in the Conference Room 1, Level 2, United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in Bangkok and via Microsoft Teams virtually.
The Assumption University of Thailand’s academic community is encouraged to spread the message of Non-Violence, and to foster the Christian values of love, hope and forgiveness towards standing against violence in any form, in any society, and against the victims of violence.
