The Roman Catholic Church observes October 22 each year as the feast day of Pope John Paul II who is considered as the patron saint of the youth and Pro-life movements.

Assumption University of Thailand has the JOHN PAUL II Center for Catholic Social Thought which was jointly inaugurated by Their Eminences Cardinals Meechai Michael Kitbunchu of Thailand and Renato Rafael Cardinal Martino in 2007. The two Cardinals also blessed the statue of Saint John Paul II at the Assumption University of Thailand, Suvarnabhumi Campus.

The corner stone of the Chapel of the Annunciation at the University’s Hua mak campus was blessed by Pope John Paul II on May 4, 1984.

The University’s sports center is named after Saint John Paul II.
